Life Coaching Services offered by Dr. Bill Gaultiere

If you want to grow personally or spiritually or to make some positive life changes then you may benefit from consulting with me as your coach.

I offer a growth-oriented program for taking positive steps towards desired personal or spiritual life change. You decide the specific life improvement you'd like to make and I'll work with you to design a specific, personalized program for you to reach your goals and enrich your soul. Then I'll help you to stay focused on your goals and encourage and guide you along the way as you make the changes that are important to you.

My coaching program is very flexible. Wherever you live, whatever your schedule we can work together. We can collaborate in person, over the phone, or by e-mail and you can do much of the work on your own, as I'll offer you assessment tests, homework assignments, and self-help referrals specific to your goals to help you stretch yourself.

Consulting with me as your life coach is similar to using a fitness coach, nutritionist, or business consultant. You hire me for the specific help you want. As your spiritual or personal coach I can help you with goals like:

  • Developing a closer relationship with God.
  • Growing spiritually.
  • Discovering and utilizing your gifts.
  • Improving your relationship skills.
  • Improving your parenting skills.
  • Increasing your enjoyment of your life.
  • Improving your self-esteem.
  • Cutting back your work hours.
  • Making a career change.
  • Increasing your efficiency on your job.

It's important that you realize that if you're in crisis, having trouble functioning adequately in your relationships or work, or struggling with depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior, or another serious emotional problem then you should seek psychotherapy (which I also offer) and not life coaching.

You may be wondering, "What's the difference between life coaching and psychotherapy?" While there is overlap between these two means of soul care, the following differences are common in my work with clients:

Coaching:

Legally, anyone can offer
Not reimbursed by insurance
Assumes healthy client
Specific short-term goals
Structured program
Enhances growth
Accomplishes life goals
Client's application is key
Focuses the conscious mind
Implements dreams for future

Psychotherapy:

Licensed or intern providers only
May be covered by insurance
Assumes client mental disorder
Broader, long-term goals
Evolving process
Treats problems and heals hurts
New experiences and insights
Therapist-client relationship is key
Uncovers the unconscious
Resolves past problem patterns
