My Favorite Trinity Prayer

By Bill Gaultiere © 2011

“Trinity Sunday” is a day worth remembering. Of course, every day is a good day to pray to the Father, Son, and Spirit!

Trinitarian Prayer greatly enriches our relationship with God, bringing out the distinct character of each member of the Godhead and the unique and wonderful way that each one relates to us.

My favorite Trinitarian Prayer is based on Psalm 16:2 and is called “My All in All: Abba, Jesus, Parakletos.”

It emphasizes the most precious names of God that have warmed my heart. Each is so personal, affectionate, and delightful. I have experienced each as a personal revelation from God. I [...]

Jesus embraces you!

The Lord Jesus says to you: “You are my friend… I have chosen you” (John 15:14, 16).

Do you know this to be true? Does God’s love for you make you rejoice? Does it make hold your head high and serve him with confidence?

As I pray the Psalms I am continually reminded that the Lord has chosen me to be his own, that he treasures me and delights to live in me. It’s true for you too! (Psalm 135:4).

When Jesus speaks he speaks for the Trinity. Think of it, Father, Son, and Spirit treasuring you as precious. “Chosen,” [...]

My All in All

What wonderful life transformation begins to take place in us when we pray from our heart: “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing” (Psalm 16:2).

Worries fade. Irritations dissipate. Busyness ceases. Spirits are lifted. Time becomes holy. We are right where we need to be when our hearts cry out to God: “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

Do you know this prayer of David? Have you spent some time letting it live in you until your heart is warmed and devotion to the Lord starts to burn within you?

The primitive Christians [...]

I Belong in the Trinity’s Family (and So Do You!)

By Bill Gaultiere © 2010

We all feel left out at times. We may feel unwanted and alone. Maybe there’s conflict in our family or our friends are busy. What to do?

At times like this it’s easy to feel sorry for yourself. Or to complain. Or to distract yourself by getting busy. I’ve done these things. But it’s so much better for my soul when I pick up my Psalms prayerbook.

One time when I did this my spirits were revived by the Psalmist giving thanks for his spiritual father who helped him to know that he was chosen and treasured by the Lord.

It warms my [...]

The Lord Treasures You!

Psalm 135:4 says: “The LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession.”

Let’s apply this to you and I today. Let’s pause to ponder, paraphrase, and pray this verse.

Today I found myself captivated by a little prayer that emerged from this verse. I prayed it over and over throughout the day. I invite you to pause with me now to ponder, paraphrase, and pray. Open your heart be stirred to appreciate God’s goodness to you!

The Father treasures me as his child;

Christ chooses me as his disciple;

The Holy Spirit lives in me as his temple.

I [...]

God’s Wildflower

By Bill Gaultiere © 2008

Do you ever feel insignificant? Compare yourself to others and come up short? Try hard to look or do better so you can stand out? I do. But then…

I pick up the inspired prayers of the Psalmist; I follow the rhythms of the ancient prayer masters. In solitude with my Lord I pray the Psalms and walk in their paths.

Day after day, over and over, I pray the same Psalms and walk the same paths, each time seeking to reach a little deeper and go a little farther.

And the One I love speaks to my soul and helps me to hold my head high. [...]
